Don’t Listen to Your Parents

Let me start by saying that I love my parents. They’re wonderful people that sacrificed a lot for their kids.

Here’s the problem with most parents advice. It’s typically not the same advice they would give to themselves. Here’s how being a parent works, when your kid is suffering, you’re suffering. Parents take our failures hard. Sure, they want us to succeed, but they want us to fail even less. They’re always giving us the safest advice. Safe is fine, but it may not be in line with the amount of success you’re aiming for.

So, listen to them, but don’t necessarily do what they’re telling you, unless it’s the right thing to do.
