New Google (Docs) Forms

Google docs got a pretty cool tool named Google Forms. It’s a lot like survey software. Personally, I use SurveyMonkey.com for my surveys. It’s light years ahead of Google Forms except that Google Forms gives you the ability to view your results in a spreadsheet or summary form.

So what do I think of Google Forms? I think it’s great for internal stuff. If you’re going to send a survey to your customers, you should always go with Survey Monkey hands down.

The free version of Survey Monkey limits you to 100 responses. For a survey, 100 responses is pretty good. They also give you 15 types of questions. Google Forms has 5.

Google Forms is pretty new, but they definitely have the beginnings of something good. One must have feature that’s missing is the ability to shoot an email off to the form creator when there is a new submission. Here is what Google has to say about Forms at their official blog.

If you’re interested in what the form looks like, I made a sample here. What’s cool about Google Forms is that you can also embed the form into a web page (as seen below) or an email.
